Paraguay declares Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization

The Permanent Commission of Paraguay congress approved, Thursday a resolution labeling the Muslim Brotherhood group as a 'terrorist group'.

The resolution presented by Senator Lilian Samaniego stated that the terrorist group that was founded in Egypt in 1928 "provides ideological aid to those who resort to violence and threaten stability and security, both in the East and in the West."

The resolution considered Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist group that threatens international security and stability and constitutes a serious violation of the purposes and principles of the United Nations.

"The Paraguayan State irrefutably rejects all terrorist acts, methods and practices that constitute a serious violation of the purposes and principles of the United Nations, which may pose a threat to international peace and security." The approved resolution stated.

Senator Samaniego stated during presenting her resolution that "several governments of the international community such as: Russia in 2003, Egypt in 2013, Saudi Arabia in 2014, United Arab Emirates in 2014, Bahrain in 2014, among others, have declared the organization 'Brothers Muslims' as a terrorist group”.
