Tehran: Israel Cannot Launch War Without US Green Light

Iran accused the United States on Saturday of giving Israel the green light to launch an attack on Iran, considering that this action rendered negotiations with the United States scientifically meaningless.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei said, "It is inconceivable or possible that the Zionist regime (Israel) would have committed such adventurous aggression and such warmongering in the region without cooperation, coordination, or at least a conscious green light from America."

He added that Iran "holds the US government responsible for the consequences and repercussions of this ill-considered and illegal act committed by the Zionist regime, and it is still unclear what decision we will make in this regard on Sunday." He considered that Israel's constant desire has been to "drag Western countries into a conflict and become embroiled in the region."

Regarding the next round of Iranian negotiations with the United States, Baghaei said, "Regarding Iran's decision to participate in the next round of negotiations with the United States despite the Zionist regime's attack on the country, the other side has acted in a way that has rendered negotiations and dialogue practically meaningless.

" He noted, "You cannot simultaneously claim to be negotiating and engaging in dialogue to reach an understanding on a particular issue, while simultaneously dividing roles and allowing a racist regime to violate the country's territorial integrity."
