Dubai ruler tours Algeria pavilion at Expo 2020
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday toured the Algeria pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The pavilion, in the Mobility District at Expo 2020 Dubai, features a golden lattice gateway symbolizing a portal to Algeria’s culture, history and future. It is modelled on the Casbah, or white fortress buildings in Algiers.
Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on major projects being implemented in Algeria, mainly in the renewable energy sector. After the tour, he expressed his admiration for the innovation shown in the Algerian pavilion. He also praised ties between the two countries and wished Algeria continued prosperity and progress.
Expo 2020 Dubai has pavilions from 192 countries and continues until the end of March. Visit numbers have climbed to 4,766,419 in the period up to 28 November, organizers have said, driven by music, sporting stars and continued strong take-up of the November Weekday Pass.
As the largest major global event to be held since the start of the pandemic, Expo 2020 Dubai continues to maintain robust COVID-19 measures, ensuring a safe and exceptional event for all attending.
With more than 90 per cent of the UAE population fully vaccinated, Expo 2020 Dubai has required mandatory vaccination of all Expo and International Participant staff, volunteers, contractors and service providers.
