Twitter suspends the account of the Houthi military spokesman

Twitter suspended the account of the military spokesman for the Houthi rebel forces, Yahya Saree.

With the account suspended, Twitter indicated that it usually makes this decision when accounts violate its usage policies. The company did not issue an official comment on the reason for the suspension of the account.

The number of followers of the suspended account reached nearly 350 thousand people. It was established in November 2018.

At the same time, another account appeared, attributed to the military spokesman for the Houthi forces. And he said in one of his tweets: “This is my previous account that Twitter suspended temporarily, and we ask our dear followers to support this alternative account until further notice, and I thank everyone who interacted with us.”

The new account, which CNN Arabic has not been able to confirm the extent to which it is related to the speaker, was established last February.

In the introductory space, it was noted that he had put a link to the channel of the Houthi group’s spokesman, Muhammad Abdul Salam, on the Telegram application.

The suspension of the Houthi military spokesman’s account sparked an interaction on Twitter, amid mixed comments.
