Egypt: Collision on Ras Ghareb-Hurghada Road Injures 20
On Sunday morning, a collision occurred on the Ras Ghareb-Hurghada coastal road on the Red Sea between a bus carrying passengers and a heavy truck, resulting in 20 injuries.
Authorities received a notification from the emergency operations room reporting a collision on the Ras Ghareb-Hurghada Road. Ambulances were dispatched to the scene, and 20 injured people were transported to the hospital for treatment and necessary medical care.
Injuries included fractures, bruises, abrasions, and concussions.
Relevant security authorities have also begun investigations to determine the circumstances of the accident. An official report has been filed and necessary legal measures have been taken.
Tightening Measures
It's worth noting that Egyptian security authorities have recently tightened their road safety measures, particularly after 19 girls were killed in a collision between a heavy truck and a bus on a regional road in Menoufia Governorate about two weeks ago.
The Ministry of Interior has intensified its traffic and disciplinary campaigns on the roads to enhance traffic safety following the recurrence of accidents. A week ago, the Ministry of Interior tested 355 drivers for drug use. 48 of them tested positive, and legal action was taken against them.
