A Rare Tiger Stolen from Cage Confuses Egypt: Circus Owner Reveals
In a strange incident, the circus owned by Egyptian lion trainer Anoussa Kota, widow of composer Mohamed Rahim, was robbed in the North Coast area of Marsa Matrouh Governorate. A rare white tiger was stolen from its cage.
Anoussa revealed the details of the incident, saying that she had traveled to Marsa Matrouh several weeks ago and set up a circus, where she performed several shows featuring predatory animals, including lions and rare white tigers.
However, she was surprised to find a tiger disappearing from its cage before the nighttime show began. She added that she was surprised by the incident, especially since this tiger is one of the fiercest animals in the circus and does not allow any strangers to approach its cage.

She continued that she notified the police, who immediately arrived and inspected the scene. Security personnel became suspicious of one of her team members. After being cornered, he confessed to stealing the tiger and traveling with it to Alexandria to sell it.
It's worth noting that Anoussa Kota's name surfaced months ago, after the Tanta Misdemeanor Court sentenced her to three months in prison last July for her involvement in a lion attack on trainer Mohamed Ibrahim Abdel Fattah Ahmed, known as "Mohamed Bastawisi," during a circus show in Tanta.
The details of the incident date back to April 1, when the victim sustained severe injuries during a predatory animal show, resulting in the amputation of his left arm above the elbow. Investigations at the time confirmed that the trainer, as one of those authorized to keep predatory animals, failed to take the necessary precautions, which caused the accident and left the trainer with a permanent disability.
