"Beast" Haaland surpasses 20 goals this season

Erling Haaland scored another hat-trick to lead Norway to a 5-0 win over Israel. The Manchester City striker took his tally to 21 goals in 12 appearances for club and country – and it was only October, before the match, which was marred by pro-Palestine protests.

His second goal of the match, a header from Antonio Nusa's cross, took his tally to 50 goals for Norway in just 46 appearances. Haaland could have scored more had he converted a first-half penalty, although he converted two of his attempts.

Haaland on His Way to Breaking Records

Following Haaland's winning goal for Manchester City against Brentford in the Premier League, Jamie Carragher described him as "the greatest goalscorer" in English football after the match. The player himself said he was in top form. He told Sky Sports: "I've never felt better than I do now."

Is Haaland getting better? His numbers prove it.

He's already made history in the Champions League. With his goal in his 49th Champions League game against Napoli, Haaland became the fastest player to reach 50 Champions League goals, breaking the record previously held by Ruud van Nistelrooy, who needed 62 games, followed by Lionel Messi with 66. For context, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Champions League's all-time top scorer with 140 goals, needed 91 games to reach 50.

And, of course, Haaland has been prolific in the Premier League. His goal against Brentford took him to 94 goals in 104 games, giving him an unprecedented goal average that puts him close to becoming the fastest player in the competition's history to reach the 100-goal club, ahead of Alan Shearer, who needed 125 games. Harry Kane, Sergio Agüero, Thierry Henry, and Mohamed Salah are second only to Shearer in reaching this milestone.

Haaland's incredible scoring rate makes him exceptional, and with nine years left on his exceptional contract, which he signed in January, and having turned 25 in July, he is on track to break almost every Premier League scoring record.

If he continues at this rate, and taking into account his average minutes played, Haaland is expected to break Shearer's record of 260 Premier League goals by September 2030. If he continues at the Etihad Stadium for the full term of his contract, until 2034, the same projections indicate he will reach an astonishing total of 389 Premier League goals.
