Iran: We Will Not Stop Uranium Enrichment, But Concessions Are Possible
Iranian presidential spokesman Majid Farahani said on Friday that Iran will not stop enriching uranium. Farahani told CNN that "Iran will not stop enriching uranium for peaceful purposes, but it may make some concessions."
He added that "the United States can end the conflict with Iran with one call to Israel." He continued, "Negotiations with Iran can easily resume if President Trump orders Israel to halt its attacks on Iran." Farahani also reiterated Iran's position that talks are impossible while Israeli strikes continue.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi told the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva that the Israeli attack represented a "betrayal of diplomacy," adding that Israel's targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities was a "serious war crime."
Following this, the Iranian foreign minister held talks in Geneva with his European counterparts regarding Iran's nuclear and missile programs. For the eighth consecutive day, the war between Israel and Iran continues, with the escalation reaching unprecedented levels, amid international fears that the conflict could slide into all-out war.
