Iran is preparing for an Israeli attack with Trump's support

Iran has put its defense systems on high alert around its nuclear facilities amid growing fears of a possible joint attack by Israel and the United States, senior government sources have confirmed to the British newspaper The Telegraph.

Two senior sources said that Iran is strengthening defenses around its main nuclear and missile sites, including deploying more air defense system launchers. One of the sources revealed that: "Iran is on high alert for an attack and the authorities expect it every night, and all sites have been put on full alert, including sites that no one knows about."

He continued that strengthening protection for Iranian nuclear sites has been in effect over the past years, but it has accelerated significantly in recent months, especially after the first Israeli attack last year.

The source explained that these moves have increased after statements by US President Donald Trump, which suggested that Israel would support launching strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. This also comes after previous warnings from US intelligence to the Biden and Trump administrations that Israel was likely to target key Iranian nuclear sites this year.

Escalating the Shadow War

Israel and Iran continue to wage a long shadow war, with each carrying out attacks against the other, either directly or through proxies.

In October 2023, Iran launched an unprecedented attack with 200 missiles on Israel, which responded with airstrikes. But current concerns relate to new developments, as speculation grows that Israel may launch a large-scale attack on Iran with Trump’s support.

While Iran possesses Russian S-300 air defense systems, it considers them insufficient to counter the advanced weapons possessed by Israel, prompting it to pressure Russia to expedite the delivery of S-400 systems.

In this context, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Air Force, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, announced that Iran is in the process of developing a ballistic missile defense system to enhance its ability to confront potential attacks.

US and Israeli Threats

Despite the development of Iranian defenses, there is concern that a major military strike could significantly weaken these systems, especially with previous attacks launched by Israel last year.

Experts believe that Israel will not be able to destroy the Iranian nuclear program alone, without support from the United States, which may participate in the attack if diplomatic talks fail.

In this context, US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz said that "all options are on the table," adding that the United States cannot allow Iran to have "its fingers on the button." While Trump confirmed his support for Israel in taking decisive steps against Iran if necessary.

Searching for a diplomatic solution

The Telegraph says that while the Iranian regime seeks to revive the nuclear agreement that Trump withdrew from in 2018, the United States is pushing towards complete nuclear disarmament.

She adds that a sustainable diplomatic solution is unlikely to be reached in light of these divergent demands, which increases the possibility of escalating military pressure in the coming months, prompting Iran to strengthen its defenses and prepare itself for the worst-case scenario.
