Describing her role as pivotal and crucial to the dramatic structure, the Egyptian actress, Mariam El Khosht, has been known for years for her warm voice in the world of dubbing, a voice familiar to audiences in Disney films and animated works that shaped the childhoods of generations.

With her transition to acting in front of the camera, she proved her talent, which extends beyond voice acting to a delicate acting sense that expresses human emotions with depth and sincerity.

Despite her relatively small screen presence compared to others, her artistic choices have been meticulous, prioritizing quality over quantity and seeking projects with vision and value. This is what has made her, in just a few years, a distinctive face in Egyptian drama and cinema.

At the 46th Cairo International Film Festival, El-Khasht attended as one of the stars of the feature film "Banat El-Basha" (The Pasha's Daughters), a significant milestone in her career, especially as it is adapted from a literary novel and belongs to the genre of works that blend psychological and social dimensions within a framework rich with human detail.

During her participation in the festival, El-Khasht revealed her vision for the film, her feelings about the experience, and the importance of women's presence in cinema in an interview with Al-Arabiya.net and Al-Hadath.net.

Actress Mariam El-Khasht stated that her participation in "Banat El-Basha" is one of the most important experiences in her artistic career, emphasizing her connection to the story from the very beginning due to its adaptation from a powerful novel with clear human depth.

El-Khasht explained that she portrays the character of "Nadia" in the film, describing the role as pivotal and extremely important to the dramatic structure. She noted that she loved the character on paper before filming began, and that her psychological interactions with the other characters gave her a special richness in the events.

She added that the film, although its events unfold in a seemingly simple beauty salon, holds much deeper meaning than some might expect. Behind this ordinary, everyday setting lie narrative layers that reveal complex human relationships and intense psychological conflicts among the protagonists.

Khasht noted that her participation in the Cairo International Film Festival marked her first appearance with a feature film at the festival, which brought her immense joy and provided a completely different experience.

As one of the oldest festivals in the region, it serves as an important platform, offering artists opportunities to meet audiences, critics, and filmmakers from around the world.

She also emphasized that collaborating with director Mando El-Adl was a major factor in her acceptance of the project, citing his confidence in the actors and his ability to guide the characters in a way that allowed them freedom of expression. She stressed that the atmosphere behind the scenes was characterized by respect, commitment, and a strong team spirit.

She added that what attracted her most to the project was the strong female presence within the film and the festival itself. She noted her happiness that women's cinema is now being presented with diverse voices and complex, unconventional roles, emphasizing that it is natural for women to be strongly present in cinematic narratives because they are an integral part of reality and life.

Khasht affirmed that "Banat El Basha" (The Pasha's Daughters) is not merely a drama based on a captivating story, but a deeply personal human experience. She added that the audience and critics' reactions during the screening proved to her that the film is indeed capable of touching viewers and sparking important discussions about human relationships and society.
