Army Reshuffle Benefits Al-Shabab


Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has once again reshuffled or replaced several army commanders even operations against militants groups Al-Shabaab continue across several regions in the country.

In a circular, President Farmajo appointed General Abas Amin Ali, the former commander of ground forces, as the new deputy commander of the national army.

General Mohamed Tahlil will replace Ali as the commander of ground forces, deputized by Colonel Hussein Hosh.

The new commanders took over their respective roles at a ceremony held at the defense ministry in Mogadishu today.

Security analysts have severally expressed concern that the constant reshuffling and replacement of top army commanders may affect strategy and ongoing operations against Al-Shabaab.
