Arbeloa criticizes refereeing after Real Madrid's draw against Girona

Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa did not hide his anger and frustration after the draw against Girona at the Santiago Bernabéu. The main reason wasn't his team's lackluster performance, which again lacked precision in front of goal, but rather the failure to award a penalty to Kylian Mbappé in stoppage time.

The Real Madrid coach stated: "It was a clear penalty here and everywhere. It's just another penalty, another week." He added: "I don't understand when VAR intervenes and when it doesn't. I've expressed my opinion before. It's a very clear case. In my opinion, we've had many problems with referees, with this referee, and with the referee last week in Mallorca. It's the same old story."

In his analysis, Arbeloa explained that Real Madrid deserved the victory, saying: "I leave feeling that even without playing our best, we clearly deserved to win this match given all the chances we created and the few goals we conceded against Girona."

He concluded: "I can't worry about players with these statistics (Mbappé and Vinicius). They are among the top four or five players in the world; these are things we need to improve as a team."
