Clinton Among Those Who Appeared in Files

Bill Clinton Testifies in Epstein Case: What Did He Say?

Bill Clinton told lawmakers on Friday that he "saw nothing suspicious" when he spent time with Jeffrey Epstein, as the former president testified behind closed doors about his relationship with the late financier convicted of sex crimes.

In a prepared statement, Clinton told the House Oversight Committee that he would not have traveled on the late financier's plane if he had known about his alleged involvement in the sex trafficking of underage girls, and that he would have reported it if he had known. Clinton added, "We are here only because he kept it very well hidden from everyone for a long time," continuing, "I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong."

His testimony comes after that of his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who told the committee on Thursday that she did not recall ever meeting Epstein and knew nothing about his sex crimes. Democratic lawmakers, for their part, emphasized that they want to question US President Donald Trump.

Bill Clinton, who served as president from 1993 to 2001, was mentioned numerous times in Epstein's documents, as was the current president, also 79, without ever facing any repercussions.

Among the photos released by the Justice Department, Clinton can be seen attending social events with Epstein, as well as in private meetings with him. At the time of Epstein's death, who committed suicide in his jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial, Clinton maintained that he had not been in contact with him for over a decade.
