Arab Cup 2025.. Record-Breaking $36.5 Million in Prize Money Surpasses Continental Tournaments

The organizing committee for the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar has increased the tournament's prize money to $36.5 million, the highest in its history.

This prize value places it in strong competition with the most lucrative official FIFA continental tournaments globally, surpassing the combined prize money of the continental championships of the two continents where all Arab countries are located: Asia and Africa.

The prize money for the 16 participating national teams in the Arab Cup totals $36.5 million, making it the fourth most valuable FIFA tournament for national teams, surpassing the Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off next week in Morocco with a total prize pool of $32 million. It also surpasses the 2024 AFC Asian Cup, which had a prize pool of $14.8 million.

Only three major international tournaments have a larger prize pool than the Arab Cup: the FIFA World Cup, with a total prize pool of $440 million in the 2022 edition, also hosted by Qatar; UEFA Euro 2024, with a prize pool of €331 million ($360 million); and finally, the Copa América, with a total prize pool of $72 million.

All participating teams received $715,000 for their participation, while those who qualified from the group stage each received $1.07 million. Jordan and Morocco qualified for the final after the semi-finals, which also included Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
