Police in Pennsylvania made a shocking discovery after a landlord evicted a tenant from her Cadogan Township home. Four dead children were found hidden inside bags in the home.
The incident occurred after the landlord, Brent Flanigan, noticed a strong odor while cleaning the unit. Authorities discovered the body of an infant in a closet, according to People magazine.
After a full search of the home, police found the bodies of three more children, two of whom were in bags in the attic. Pennsylvania authorities later confirmed the discovery of a fourth set of remains, bringing the total number of infants to four. Investigations revealed that Jessica Mouth, 39, admitted to giving birth to these children in her home and hiding the bodies of three of them immediately after birth.
She added that one of the children was born about six years ago in the bathroom. She noted that he died after she lost consciousness upon hearing his voice, so she buried his body in the home. Police also revealed that another infant died after being wrapped in a towel, without receiving any medical care, and that they did not notify anyone of the births and deaths.
Mauth has been charged with felony murder, involuntary manslaughter, concealment of a child's death, and abuse of a corpse.
