A Polish Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed on Thursday during preparations for an air show in Radom, central Poland. The pilot was killed in the crash, according to Polish government spokesman Adam Slápka.

"A tragedy occurred in Radom. During preparations for the air show, an F-16 fighter jet crashed. Unfortunately, the pilot was killed," Slápka said on the X platform.A Polish military statement said no one on the ground was injured in the crash.

Videos published by the media showed the fighter jet performing an aerobatic maneuver, then crashing on the runway and catching fire.The air show in Radom, about 100 kilometers south of Warsaw, is scheduled to take place this weekend.
