Munson Healthcare reported on social media that 11 people were being treated at the region's largest hospital in northern Michigan, adding that it would provide updates "as necessary." Hospital spokeswoman Megan Brown reported that all were stabbing victims, adding that six were in critical condition and five were in serious condition late Saturday.
Walmart spokesman Joe Pennington said via email that the company is "working with the police and referring questions to them at this time." Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea stated that "the weapon used in the incident appears to be a folding knife."
