Yemeni army inflicts heavy losses on Houthi militia
Yemen government forces and the Giants Brigades liberated the Harib district in the Marib province from the Iran-backed Houthi militias.
The locals woke up on Tuesday to a new day without the militias as the Giants Brigades, backed by air cover from the Saudi-led Arab coalition, continued their advance towards the al-Jawiya district.
The coalition said over 240 terrorist Houthis were killed in 53 raids. Meanwhile, in Harib, the locals said they hoped that state services will be resumed and that the region will be cleared of Houthi mines.
Harib was liberated on Monday with the Houthis fleeing towards the al-Jawiya and al-Abdiya districts.
The locals expect more collapses in Houthi ranks in the coming days as the government advances on them to the south.
The military media released footage of the Giants Brigades being warmly welcomed by Harib residents after they entered the district center.
Harib had for months been occupied by the Houthis, who have deprived the people of basic services such as electricity, water and cooking gas.
The military said the forces will now advance on Jabal Malaa, noting the collapses in Houthi ranks.
