UAE parliament sees strong presence of women

In the 15th legislative period in In 2011 there were seven female members, or 17.5%, and in the sixteenth legislature in 2015, there were eight women, who made up 22%.

The UAE president has also urged strengthening the participation of women in the comprehensive and balanced development process carried out by the state and the activation of their role in the community service, which enables them to perform their duties alongside men in various areas of national work.

In addition, she has an active role through her presidency and participation in regional, Islamic and international parliamentary groups.
