The Egyptian Interior Ministry announced the arrest of a person accused of defrauding the artist Karim Abdel Ghani and obtaining money from him, in a quick and direct response to a distress call launched by the artist through a video clip he posted on his personal account on the social networking site “Facebook.”

The official statement issued by the Ministry stated that immediately after monitoring and following up on the circulating video clip, the security services succeeded in identifying the accused>

 and it was found that he runs and participates in a food packaging company, and resides in the Raml area in Alexandria Governorate. He is required to be imprisoned in 38 various cases, including forgery, waste, beating, and checks without balance.

Investigations confirmed, according to the Ministry’s statement, that the accused’s hiding place was monitored in the Fifth Settlement Police Department in New Cairo, where a security force raided the site and arrested him, and all necessary legal measures were taken regarding the incident.

For his part, the artist Karim Abdel Ghani revealed the details and behind the scenes of the fraud incident to which he was exposed, explaining that the accused had written bank checks to him more than three years ago, but he completely failed to pay their financial value, which forced him to take the legal path and resort to the judiciary to restore his rights.

 Abdul-Ghani added that he was indeed able to obtain final and enforceable judicial rulings against the accused, but the latter succeeded in escaping, hiding, and hiding from sight over the past months.

It is noteworthy that the artist Karim Abdel Ghani, born in the city of Alexandria, began his artistic career through the theater portal before moving to the capital, Cairo, to participate in television dramas, where he made his mark in a number of prominent series.

 including “Taqa Hob” and the “Choice” series, and one of his mostt recent artistic works was his participation in the series “Children of the Shepherd” with the stars Majed Al-Masry, Khaled Al-Sawy, and Ahmed Eid.
