According to statements attributed to a company executive at a financial event in Shenzhen, Huawei is developing a new chipset platform based on what the company calls the "Tau (τ) Design," an engineering approach that aims to redesign chipsets, not just improve the manufacturing process. 

According to leaks, the processor may be released under the name Kirin 9050 Pro, although Huawei has not yet officially confirmed the final name, according to a report published by Gizmochina.

Performance Nearing Modern 3nm Chips

Rumors suggest the new processor will achieve performance levels approaching those of 3nm smartphone chips, with significant improvements in transistor density and power efficiency. The design is said to be based on a "logic stacking" architecture, where electronic circuits are arranged vertically rather than relying solely on traditional horizontal scaling.

The figures circulating include:

- A transistor density increase of over 53%.

- Power efficiency improvement in the main cores by up to 41%.

- Maximum performance speeds increased by approximately 12.7%.

A Strong Focus on Artificial Intelligence

In addition to the processor advancements, reports indicate the Mate 90 series will heavily emphasize artificial intelligence capabilities and on-device data processing, aiming to compete with the latest flagship phones on the market.
