In an incident that went beyond the limits of dramatic imagination to settle at the heart of real-life tragedy, an unexpected “artistic” coincidence succeeded in ending the suffering of an Egyptian family that had lasted 12 years.

The events of one of the Ramadan series that was shown last month caused the unveiling of the fate of a girl who was kidnapped when she was seven years old, and it became clear that she had been exploited for a decade in the “begging business” under the guise of forged birth certificates. The chapters of the tragedy go back to 2014, when the child, “Nada,” left her family’s home in the Abbasiya area in Cairo to buy household supplies and did not return.

The "Missing Children" page published a picture of a girl named "Nada" from the Abbasiya area in Cairo. She was 7 years old at the time of her disappearance 12 years ago, after her family asked her to buy some needs for the house, but she did not return again, beginning a long journey of search and suffering that the family went through in the hope of finding their daughter, to no avail.

While the story seemed to have been forgotten, coincidence came to reopen the file again, after the showing of one of the Ramadan series that dealt with the issue of child kidnapping, as the page administrator received a call from a man named Ahmed, accompanied by his wife, to narrate the details of a story that seemed more cruel and exciting than any dramatic work.

Ahmed revealed that his wife began talking to him for the first time about painful secrets about her mother before their marriage, explaining that she had been exploiting her since her childhood, as she used to beg with her using a forged death certificate for her father, in order to obtain money and aid, and also pushed her to beg and seize the money she collected.

A painful truth unfolds

The shock did not stop there, as the wife said that her mother told her about the existence of another girl who claimed to be her sister from her deceased father, and who was also exploiting her in begging, before she later discovered that that girl was not her sister in the first place, and that the most painful truth was that she was the same kidnapped child that her family had been searching for for 12 years, after she was kidnapped and exploited in begging and collecting money.

Rami Al-Jabali, the administrator of the page, said that the story contains poignant dramatic details, explaining that after showing one of the Ramadan series that dealt with the kidnapping of children, he received a call from the husband of a woman who revealed to him what she had suffered from the cruelty of her mother, before the details and pictures matched a child whose picture the page had been publishing for 12 years.

Al-Jabali added that coincidence played the most prominent role in revealing the truth, noting that contact was made with the security authorities who immediately began taking the necessary measures, and contact was also made with Nada’s family, who had already gotten to know her, stressing that the girl is expected to be returned to her family in the coming days, after 12 years of absence and suffering.
