She administered a fatal dose of ketamine to Matthew Perry: Sentenced

A drug dealer known as the "Ketamine Queen" in Hollywood circles was sentenced to 15 years in prison for her role in the death of Friends star Matthew Perry, after administering a fatal dose of the drug.

Sangha told the court that she takes full responsibility for her crimes, adding that she felt as if "the carpet of life had been ripped from her," according to the New York Post.

Jasven Sangha, 42, appeared in a white prison jumpsuit with her feet in shackles, visibly moved during her sentencing hearing at a Los Angeles courthouse on Wednesday, expressing remorse to the court for her role in Perry's death.

"Maximum Sentence"

In a letter submitted to the court hours before the sentencing, Matthew Perry's family demanded the maximum sentence for Jasfin Sangha. Debbie Perry, the widow of the late star's father, described the defendant as a "ruthless" woman who destroyed the lives of hundreds to make money through illicit means.

The letter stated: "The pain you have caused to hundreds, perhaps thousands, is irreparable. You, who possess a talent for business, chose the only path that harms people." The letter concluded by urging the court to protect other families from the dangers of this deadly trade, emphasizing that Matthew's absence has left a void that cannot be filled.

65 Years in Prison

Jasfin Sangha, who holds both American and British citizenship, faced a potential sentence of up to 65 years in prison. However, U.S. District Judge Sherylyn Garnett handed down a 15-year sentence, based on the recommendation of federal prosecutors.

Sanga, who admitted to running an illegal drug stash from her North Hollywood home in Los Angeles, pleaded guilty to five felony drug-related charges in connection with Perry's 2023 death at the age of 54.

The late actor Matthew Perry was found unresponsive in a bathtub at his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023. An autopsy concluded that Perry died from "acute ketamine toxicity," which, combined with other factors, caused him to lose consciousness, drown, and ultimately die.
