Ibrahim Hassan, the manager of the Egyptian national football team, confirmed that star player Mohamed Salah will be ready to participate in the 2026 World Cup, which kicks off next June, as his absence due to injury will be four weeks.

Mohamed Salah left the field during Liverpool's match against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League on Saturday due to a hamstring injury.

Hassan said on Saturday evening: "Mohamed Salah's injury is a hamstring tear, according to the examinations conducted by the medical staff of Liverpool FC in coordination with their counterparts in the Egyptian national team."

He continued: "Mohamed Salah needs four weeks to recover from the injury and will be ready to participate with the Egyptian national team in the World Cup." Egypt will play in Group G of the 2026 World Cup alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.
