Egyptian international striker Omar Marmoush expressed his immense joy after leading his team, Manchester City, to the English League Cup final with a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United in the second leg of the semi-final, giving City a 5-1 aggregate win.

The match witnessed a remarkable performance from Marmoush, who scored two goals, setting up a highly anticipated clash for the Sky Blues at Wembley Stadium against Arsenal next month. 

Marmoush's first goal came after a stroke of luck, as the ball rebounded off his foot following a challenge from defender Dan Burn and into the net. The second goal followed soon after, as Marmoush capitalized on perfect positioning inside the penalty area to head home a poorly cleared ball from Kieran Trippier from close range.

Before the end of the first half, Tijani Rayners extended City's lead with a third goal, while Anthony Illanga scored Newcastle's only goal before the hour mark. Marmoush came close to scoring a historic hat-trick, but his shot went over the bar in the dying moments. City's official website quoted Marmoush as saying, "Of course, I think the first goal was very lucky."

He added, "I always try to make runs and be in the right place, and I'm very happy to have scored two goals and helped the team reach the final." Regarding missing the chance for a hat-trick, Marmoush explained, "I would have liked to score a hat-trick today as well, but I'm very happy to have scored two goals. This gives us, as a whole team, the confidence to win the match."

The Egyptian star also praised the team spirit within Manchester City, saying, "We showed a great mentality and were very united as a team. From the first minute, we were completely focused on the task, and I think we showed our character and passion in this match. We are very happy to have reached the final."

Marmoush is now looking forward to achieving his first official title with Manchester City, explaining: "This is one of the biggest clubs in the world and we are here to win titles. We do our best every day to reach these finals and achieve championships."
