Trump to drink mate soon... His son founds a specialized company.
Newsweek magazine, citing official documents, revealed that Barron Trump, the youngest son of US President Donald Trump, has founded a new beverage company.
According to business registration documents filed in Florida and Delaware last January, Barron Trump and four others were listed as directors of a company called Sollos Yerba Mate Inc., described by one of its directors as a company that produces mate-based beverages.
Yerba mate is a caffeinated herbal tea that is widely popular in South American countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Brazil. Files filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) show that the company has $1 million in capital, raised through a private placement.
Although Newsweek could not independently verify that the name on the documents actually belongs to the president's son, the company is registered at an address near the Trump family's Florida residence, and two of its directors attended the same high school as Barron Trump.
The company's formation coincided with previous business activities by Barron Trump, then 19 years old and a student at New York University. According to records, Sollos Yerba Mate Inc. was incorporated in Delaware on December 3, 2025, and then registered in Florida on January 12, 2026, as a foreign for-profit company. Delaware is known as a business-friendly state with extensive corporate tax advantages.
The company's board of directors, in addition to Barron Trump, included Rodolfo Castillo, Valentino Gomez, Steven Hall, and Spencer Bernstein. Barron Trump had previously founded a real estate company in 2024, which was later dissolved during the election campaign to avoid media coverage, with uncertain plans to relaunch it later.
