Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev mocked US President Donald Trump, saying that the United States had not sent nuclear submarines to Russia's shores, as Trump had threatened.

On Saturday, Trump described Medvedev as a "stupid person" and said that he had moved "one or two submarines" toward Russia's shores. Trump said in August that he had ordered two nuclear submarines to be moved to "appropriate areas" in response to threats from Medvedev.

Medvedev wrote on the X platform in English, "Another episode of the thriller series... Trump once again brought up the subject of the submarines he allegedly 'sent to Russia's shores,' insisting that they were 'very well hidden.'" Medvedev added, "As they say, it's hard to find a black cat in a dark room, especially if it isn't there."
