In one of the largest fraud crimes in Egypt, Egyptian authorities announced the arrest of Mohamed Adel, known in the media as "Restaurant Blogger", after collecting millions of pounds from citizens under the pretext of investment and then fleeing the country.
The "Restaurant Blogger" deceived 150 people into investing their money in the restaurant sector and fraudulently collected more than 50 million pounds. He claimed that he was on his way to purchasing and managing a number of major brands inside and outside Egypt in exchange for a 60% profit.
