Barcelona's official channel mocked former Real Madrid captain Luka Modric during the team's friendly match against South Korean side FC Seoul.

The Catalans won the match 7-3, but the commentators mocked Modric. One commentator said, "We didn't realize the tribute we should have given Luka Modric. His last assist was to Kounde in the Copa del Rey final. From here, we want to show our gratitude." The commentator was referring to a miscue made by Modric in his penultimate Clásico since 2012, when he played in a subsequent match in the second leg of the league tie.

In the final of the last Copa del Rey in April, Barcelona won the title after a dramatic match against their eternal rivals. The Blaugrana took the lead through Pedri, before Real Madrid came back in the final 15 minutes to score twice, courtesy of goals from French duo Kylian Mbappé and Aurelien Tchouameni.

With the match drawing to a close, Thibaut Courtois made a mistake, allowing Ferran Torres to equalize. In the second half of extra time, four minutes before the end of the match and the game going to penalties, substitute Modrić misplaced a pass to Frenchman Jules Kounde, who fired into the far corner, declaring his team's title. Modrić moved to AC Milan this summer on a one-year contract with the option to renew for a further year.
