$600 million wedding: Bezos and Lauren to marry this week
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his ex-fiancée, TV presenter Lauren Sanchez, are expected to marry in Aspen the weekend after Christmas, media reports said. Billionaire Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez are set to tie the knot in a lavish wedding in Aspen, Colorado, at an estimated cost of $600 million, according to the Daily Mail.
According to the British Daily Mail, the couple, who have been engaged since May 2023, Bezos, 60, and his fiancée, 55, have chosen Matsuhisa, a luxury sushi restaurant, as the venue for their winter wonderland-themed wedding. A source told the Mail that the luxury restaurant hosting the wedding has been booked exclusively for December 26-27 to serve an elite guest list and can accommodate around 180 guests.
The lavish celebration is expected to be a star-studded affair, following the couple's engagement celebrations in Positano, Italy, which included high-profile guests including Bill Gates and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Bezos and Sanchez have kept their big day unusually secretive since he proposed aboard his $500 million superyacht in May 2023. While details are still under wraps, reports suggest the couple arrived in Aspen over the weekend, suggesting a celebration is imminent.
Neither Bezos nor Lauren Sanchez have yet to confirm the news. Wedding Could Cost $600 Million Three sources close to the event have reported that the wedding will take place on December 28. Another insider says the wedding and its festivities will cost the couple $600 million.
Earlier on the Today Show, Sanchez revealed some details about her wedding dress, but the couple has remained tight-lipped about their wedding plans. The report also says that five-star hotels in Aspen have been booked to accommodate guests starting after Christmas. In addition to these luxurious accommodations, Bezos is said to have secured private mansions around town for high-profile attendees.
A well-connected member of the Aspen community said the Amazon founder and his entourage arrived on a private jet at the city’s airport on Saturday. Unconfirmed rumors in the city suggest that Bezos, the world’s second-richest man, will host the ceremony at Kevin Costner’s 160-acre ranch.
Strict secrecy and non-disclosure agreements
Aspen wedding planners have revealed that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are pulling out all the stops to pull off their high-profile, secret wedding, hiring vendors from across the country and putting in place strict non-disclosure agreements.
The couple will be choosing “their favorite things from around the world and flying them to Aspen, whether it’s a cake from Paris, a hairdresser from New York, or a band from Los Angeles,” said Sarah Rose Attman, a high-end wedding planner in Aspen.
Sanchez told Vogue in November last year that she hadn’t started planning at the time, telling the magazine: “We’re still thinking about the wedding… Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet.
