UAE cheers to rainfall over wadis and roads
Several parts of the UAE, including Dubai and Sharjah, reported rainfall on Thursday.
A yellow alert was also issued for some eastern areas due to a chance of convective cloud formations associated with more rainfall, along with 40 kmph winds causing blowing sand and reducing horizontal visibility. The alert will remain in place until 9pm on Thursday.
Heavy rains have been reported in parts of the UAE on Wednesday, even as the highest temperature hit 47°C.
Social media sites were flooded with footage of rainfall over wadis and roads, mainly over the eastern regions of the UAE.
Wadi Al Hilu, the Kalba Road and Huwailat, north of Hatta, were among those areas that were featured in the fantastic videos.
The National Centre of Meteorology had previously attributed the heavy rains to cloud seeding efforts across the country
